There's been a lot of debate on the usefulness of compression sleeves. The main benefit is increased blood circulation. They are based on the same premise as people suffering from diabetes and need help with blood circulation which is aided with compression socks. Nurses (ask Carly) also wear compression socks to help with blood circulation when working 12 hour shifts and pretty much stand all day. The primary benefit for me is to accelerate recovery from increased blood flow after hard/long runs. It hasn't been proven if wearing them during a race provides a significant benefit. I've heard it helps reduce muscle vibration and delays fatigue. I can't say for certain that they help but I've always worn them during my marathons/long runs and do feel my legs can stay fresher a little longer. If anything, it also helps out mentally. I'm a fan of either the Zensah Calf Sleeves (http://www.runblogger.com/2... or the 2XU sleeves because they allow me to pick and choose which socks I want to wear.

Re: My Favorite Triathlon Gear for Under $20

Find a 5K you want to do and I'll help you get ready. It is
very impressive for the first time.I recommend not using fish sauce while you simmer the broth, especialy if you cook inside( the best if you can cook in the garage or in the porch) the lime add the nice finish look for the picture, pace it in the herb dish and slighly squeeze it to the bowl to avoid the bitter taste.

Re: My Favorite Triathlon Gear for Under $20

Q- What type of distance would you recommend starting to use compression gear (socks/sleeves) and what do you personally find is the benefit?

Re: Hacking My Sleep with the Zeo Sleep Coaching Device

Interesting, you do some cool stuff q.
